  • Reboot the player.
  • Verify the signal strength of the player. If the signal strength is at or above 8.5, send a refresh to the player via the LE control site.
  • Verify the coaxial cable is securely connected to the RF input on the back of the player.
  • Verify that external forces have not affected the satellite signal.
  • A technician may need to be dispatched to re-align the satellite dish, repair coaxial connections, or replace the player in order to restore signal.
How to check signal strength
  • Press and hold the ▲ and ▼ buttons at the same time for two seconds to access the main menu.
  • Press the ▼ button until is displayed. Press the ENTER button. The signal strength will be displayed.

Signal strength on the Encompass LE/LE2 is measured on a numbered scale; the higher the number, the stronger the signal strength. Under clear sky conditions, the signal strength is not considered good below 8.5; anything below this point will yield poor performance exhibited by static, music dropping out, and switching to rain fade back up if available on that output. A signal strength of 10 or higher should allow proper music playback (technicians should achieve signal strength above 8.5 before leaving the site). If signal strength measures 12 or above, there is likely an over-signal situation caused by an in-line amp that is too close to the LE receiver, or a very short coaxial cable between the receiver and the dish (less than 50 feet).
